Queenstown Airport set new records for its busiest week and month in December, show new figures. Double digit growth across domestic and international passengers saw total numbers increasing 21.7% to 156,636. It was the strongest year-on-year growth for domestic passengers, up 20% on Dec 2014. Load factors on the Auckland-Queenstown route were high, over 90% despite of a combined airline capacity increase of 22% on the route. In addition, over a 12 month period Queenstown Airport welcomed 1.5 million passengers for the first time. International passenger volumes increased 27% year-on-year, following 19% growth across all international routes.
