The strong growth experienced by Queenstown airport continued in June despite challenging weather, and passenger numbers still grew on all domestic and international routes.
In terms of domestic travel a new milestone was achieved with more than 1 million domestic passengers passing through the airport in the last 12 months.
International passenger numbers were up nearly 39% on June last year, with the biggest growth on the trans-Tasman routes – in particular Sydney and the Gold Coast routes. Capacity and load factors increased on all routes, with 31% more international landings than last June.
