It has been announced that BMW Group will be the naming rights sponsor for the 2015 BMW New Zealand Open which is being held March 12-15 at The Hills and Millbrook Resort in Queenstown.
Chairman of the New Zealand Open Organising Committee, Mr. John Hart, confirmed the sponsorship at a launch in Auckland which was attended by the Prime Minister the Right Honourable John Key.
Hart said, “The BMW New Zealand Open is the most unique national open in the world being played in a Pro-Am format across two magnificent courses.”
The Open is a tier one event on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the flagship golf event in New Zealand. It was also announced that the tournament prize money will increase to a new level of NZD$1 million, solidifying the championship as one of the most significant golf tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region.
